The horse yelling, the 6-pack abs and spray tan are back. Keeping an industry alive, Warner Bros.‘ “300” sequel is coming and with about four months to go until it hits theaters, “300: Rise Of An Empire” is kicking off its marketing campaign with a couple of first look images.
USA Today has the snaps which show off a scene of battling gladiators and lead Sullivan Stapleton from the new entry in what we now suppose is a franchise. Admitting the new movie “is tied visually to the original,” director Noam Murro says “there is a whole different choreography of fighting and war.” So basically, the slow-mo sword play is gonna be like totally different. However, the basic concept of the underdogs fighting their oppressors will still be in play.
“The few against the many is still here,” Murro told the paper. “It’s hundreds vs. hundreds of thousands. It’s about taking on the mightiest power of all with wisdom and tactics.” And leading all that power is villainess Eva Green, playing Artemisia, the leader of the Persian army.
We’d wager a trailer is just around the corner offering even more of the followup which was co-written by Zack Snyder. Sullivan Stapleton leads the movie with Rodrigo Santoro, Jack O’Connell, Lena Headey and more in support. “300: Rise Of An Empire” will scream at you on August 2nd.
