Get Surreal With Richard Ayoade's Eerie Video For Radiohead's 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor Rich Man Poor Man Beggar Man Thief'

Nothing has been traditional about Radiohead‘s release of their latest album, A Moon Shaped Pool, but that’s just the way fans like it. The band completely wiped all their social media accounts earlier this year, only to then quickly announce and suddenly release their new LP, continuing their side-stepping of the industry playbook. And while they’ve had a couple of standard videos for songs on the album (including one directed by Paul Thomas Anderson), they’ve also been very busy on Instagram, posting a stream of abstract imagery, along with vignettes from a variety of directors, set to different songs from the album. And the latest might be the best of the batch so far.

Richard Ayoade, the director behind “Submarine” and “The Double,” has helmed the latest mini-video for Radiohead’s “‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor Rich Man Poor Man Beggar Man Thief.” For me, it actually plays like a riff on UNKLE‘s “Rabbit In Your Headlights” (which featured vocals by Thom Yorke), except from the perspective of a driver who happens upon something truly surreal.
