If You Give Daniel Radcliffe A Great Script, He'll Play Harry Potter Again

Try as he might to get out from under the shadow of the “Harry Potter” franchise, Daniel Radliffe hasn’t had much luck. His string of indie flicks, including the recent farting corpse flick “Swiss Army Man,” haven’t gained much traction, while his attempts at popping into new blockbuster vehicles have been equally unsuccessful (“Victor Frankenstein,” “Now You See Me 2“). So, perhaps it’s not a surprise he’s keeping his options open to playing the boy wizard again, though as per usual in these kinds of cases, it would have to be under the right conditions.

“It would depend on the script,” he told Radio Times. “The circumstances would have to be pretty extraordinary. But then I am sure Harrison Ford said that with Han Solo and look what happened there! So I am saying, ‘No,’ for now but leaving room to backtrack in the future.”

While Harrison Ford is good model to work from, it’s also worth remembering the actor cracked whip again for “Indiana Jones and The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull” and we all saw happened there when the material wasn’t up to snuff. So Radcliffe might want to keep a particular eye on how ‘Harry Potter’ spinoff “Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them” is received. Even though it takes place in a timeline before his character appears, I’m sure Warner Bros. will have no problem jumping through narrative loops if it means Radcliffe weaves some more magic down the line in a sequel or a new Harry Potter story.
