'Godzilla' And 'Skull Island' Writer Returns To Pen 'Godzilla 2'

GodzillaYou may consider the following great news… or you may not. Writer Max Borenstein, the man responsible for killing off Bryan Cranston and for keeping the titular monster hidden for most of the recent "Godzilla" tentpole, is back for more foggy, hidden-in-darkness, mayhem.

Deadline reports that the writer has been tapped to pen "Godzilla 2," which amounts to a show of confidence from producers Legendary Pictures. Borenstein also penned the company’s upcoming King Kong prequel "Skull Island," so clearly they think he’s got blockbuster chops. And while many complained about the lack of Godzilla in "Godzilla," Rodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah are promised to appear in the sequel.

"Godzilla 2" arrives on June 8, 2018.
