Godzilla Rages Again Thanks To Warner Bros. & Legendary Pictures

Even though audiences didn’t particularly care for Universal’s monster movie “The Wolfman,” Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures think they can deliver the goods as they have acquired the rights to Godzilla from Japan’s Toho studios.

As you might recall, Roland Emmerich unleashed the monster in his 1998 film “Godzilla” that made its $130 million budget back in the U.S. but did even better overseas, hauling in $242 million. Obviously, this is franchise with a unique appeal that goes far beyond U.S. borders which makes it a particularly attractive project for studios who rely on those dollars particularly for expensive projects like these ones.

Does the world really need another Godzilla movie? No, but we’re not particularly horrified by the idea either. We frankly just don’t care all that much. It will probably in 3D, be big, loud, terrible and feature actors who should know better running away from CGI monster feet and things that are exploding. Meh.
