After the very indie heavy soundtrack of “Whip It” last year, another Drew Barrymore comedy is on the way with another selection of hipster approved tunes.
For “Going The Distance,” the upcoming late summer rom-com starring Barrymore and Justin Long, a mixtape friendly selection of tracks will grace the soundtrack. Ex-Q And Not U outfit Georgie James stride into the majors with “Places;” The Strokes’ axe-slinger Albert Hammond Jr. contributes “In Transit” from his debut album Yours To Keep while soundtrack mainstay Cat Power struts with “Could We.” Helping to round things out are The Cure, Eels, The Replacements, Band Of Skulls, Passion Pit and more.
