'Gotham' Series Finale Trailer: After 5 Years & 100 Episodes, Fox's Superhero Show Finally Shows Us Batman

It took 5 seasons and 100 episodes, but Fox’sGotham” TV series is set to finally unveil this universe’s version of Batman, as well as fully realize his various villains with their more comics-accurate looks. But at this point, do you care?

In the new teaser for the final episode of the series, “Gotham” shows viewers their first glimpse at the Caped Crusader, and quickly, gives us a taste of what he’ll sound like. For those that haven’t seen “Gotham” and wonder how a series about Batman’s hometown took 100 episodes before showing the hero, you should know that the series is set years before the character we all know and love becomes an adult.

For five years, actor David Mazouz has portrayed the young Bruce Wayne, as he deals with the loss of his parents and the rise of costumed villains in his beloved city. Instead of focusing on Bruce, however, “Gotham” has relied on the plethora of colorful bad guys to keep the drama interesting, with the Gotham City PD providing the heroic moments, as they attempt to keep the city from falling into the hands of crazy folks like The Riddler, The Joker, The Penguin, and more. Along the way, Bruce becomes more and more vital to the show, as he grows to become a vigilante and then, obviously, Batman.

So, how does he look? Well, it’s hard to tell for sure, but it looks good. Again, I have to preface this by saying I’m not an avid watcher of “Gotham” and bailed during Season 2, but compared to the recent reveal of the Joker’s look, this is 1000% better. Of course, it appears that there’s a bit of a time-jump that allows for Batman to be portrayed by an adult actor and the rest of the villains to become closer to their comic book counterparts.
