Greg Kinnear, Jennifer Connelly, Kristen Bell, Lily Collins & More Are 'Writers'; Stephen King Will Cameo

Jennifer ConnellyThis project has been building for the last month or so, and with cameras set to roll next week in North Carolina, there's no better time to gather up all the details in one place.

An extensive, promising cast including Greg Kinnear, Jennifer Connelly, Lily Collins, Kristen Bell, Logan Lerman, Nat Wolff and Liana Liberato are lined up to star in the indie dramedy "Writers." The film, the debut from writer/director Josh Boone, centers on Bill Borgens (Kinnear), a prominent author still emotionally attached to his ex-wife, played by Connelly. Collins and Wolff (“New Years Eve”) take the roles of their children, who are both romantically entangled with a classmate (Lerman) and a first love (Liberato), respectively. Rounding out the cast is Kristen Bell, playing Tricia, Bill's casual hook-up attempting to aid him through his destructive feelings. Also popping up? Stephen King in a cameo.

One could easily assume the worst of indie tendencies to result from that summary, but the solid mix of dependable actors and new faces places the project as one to watch out for. Sundance next year perhaps? [Variety/Screen Daily]
