Isabelle Huppert Terrorizes Chloë Grace Moretz In First Clip From Neil Jordan's TIFF Film 'Greta'

Isabelle Huppert is a proven acting powerhouse. With incredible roles in dozens of films, including her recent award-winning work in “Elle,” Huppert is without a doubt, one of the best in the world. And in the new film “Greta,” which premieres at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival (read our review), she gets to play off an up-and-coming actress in Chloë Grace Moretz, who is coming off a string of strong performances in “The Miseducation of Cameron Post” and the upcoming “Suspiria.” As seen in the first clip from the TIFF film, both look to be firing on all cylinders, so to speak.

In a clip, we see what can only be described as one of the most uncomfortable experiences ever seen in a restaurant as Huppert’s Greta taunts, insults, and ultimately attacks the younger Moretz, who is her server. The film follows Moretz and Huppert as polar opposites that become fast friends after the younger actress finds the purse of the other. However, once the relationship develops more, it’s apparent that Greta isn’t all that she’s cracked up to be.

“Greta” comes from filmmaker Neil Jordan, who is probably best known for his work on films like “The Crying Game,” “Interview with the Vampire,” and most recently, “Byzantium,” which also featured two strong female leads in Saoirse Ronan and Gemma Arterton. Jordon co-wrote the script with Ray Wright.

Joining Huppert and Moretz in the cast are Maika Monroe, Colm Feore, and Stephen Rea.

As mentioned, “Greta” debuts at TIFF, as the film is looking for distribution. With these two actresses, distribution should be coming very soon.
