Fresh off his $1 billion blockbuster, “Aladdin,” it appears that Guy Ritchie is going to hit the ground running with new projects coming one right after another. First, as seen in the trailer, the filmmaker is returning to his crime film roots with the upcoming “The Gentlemen.” And according to a new report, it appears that he’s already got his next project lined up.
Discussing Film is reporting that Ritchie is in talks to write and direct the upcoming film, “Vigilance.” The filmmaker is expected to reteam with his ‘Gentlemen’ studio partner, Miramax, for his latest crime thriller. “Vigilance” is said to follow an American woman that begins working with a London armored car company. However, things begin to change when she finds herself in the midst of a crew that is planning a heist.
Frequent Ritchie collaborator, Ivan Atkinson, is on board to produce “Vigilance.” Previously, the duo worked on “The Gentlemen,” “Aladdin,” “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” and “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.”
The report doesn’t mention a release date or production start date for “Vigilance.” However, considering Ritchie’s next film is hitting theaters in January 2020, it’s not too crazy to think that “Vigilance” could begin production later next year and look at a 2021 release date. Obviously, we’ll have to confirm he’s even attached before we can start nailing down a date.
As mentioned, “The Gentlemen” just released a trailer earlier today, and you can watch that below.
