While Anonymous is generally known for their more politically motivated actions, this is probably one of the few times they will ever be linked to big screen movie adaptation of your Mom’s favorite book of erotica. Launching an action that was apparently driven as a response to Germany’s shutdown of the filesharing network Drei.bz, hackers made their way into the servers of production company Constantin Film, and nabbed a bunch of documents. Among them was paperwork suggesting Emma Watson might be cast in “Fifty Shades Of Grey.”
For those who have been following every burp and fart around the brewing movie, they’ll know that the actress has rumored since the earliest days, though last summer she played down the chatter. “I haven’t read the book, I haven’t a read a script, nothing. There are so many movies you become attached to when I’ve literally never even received a phone call. It was the same way with ‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo‘ – I never even saw a script!” she said. (Yes, she was one of the names tossed around during David Fincher‘s lengthy hunt for his Lisbeth Salander).
However, the actual leaked paperwork says “Maybe Emma Waston” and was dated last fall, which jibes with Constatin’s statements that the stuff stolen from them “were out of date and widely accessible to many Constantin employees.” Still, it’s enough to stoke the pervy fires of many who want to know who’s going to play Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. As for that, we’ve already made our suggestions right here. But with a 2014 release reportedly being eyed, legit info might be coming soon. [THR]
