Harmony Korine's 'Spring Breakers' Gets March 22nd Release Date & Awesome Poster

nullAnnapurna Pictures has spent the fall being associated with high-falutin', critical-praise-baitin' pictures like "Zero Dark Thirty" and "The Master." But this spring, the production company, along with their partners A24, is unveiling a movie that will likely win zero Oscars, won't be nominated for anything, and will have more conrows and fluorescent bikinis than any movie they'll make…possibly ever. Harmony Korine's "Spring Breakers" is coming, and it now has a firm date.

The gonzo pic will hit theaters in New York and Los Angeles on March 22nd, and go nationwide on March 29th. So if you don't want to bother with "The Croods," "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," "The Host" or "Olympus Has Fallen" you now have a much better alternative.

To recap: Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine star as four college coeds who fund their spring break getaway by robbing a fast food joint. But their fortune changes when they're bailed out by Alien (James Franco), an infamous local thug and amateur rapper who takes them under his wing. Helping to pad things out is a score by Cliff Martinez and Skrillex, but by this point, you should already be convinced to buy a ticket.

And if not? Check out the awesome new poster below. [Vulture]null
