Harold & Kumar Salute The Holidays In First Look At 'A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas'

Update: a cleaner version has arrived via Yahoo.

Six years after their Guantanamo Bay adventure, stoner buds Harold Lee and Kumar Patel cause a holiday fracas by inadvertently burning down Harold’s father-in-law’s prize Christmas tree. The two then reunite to replace it. Yup, this is the premise behind the third ‘Harold & Kumar’ film, “A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas.” One again starring Kal Penn, John Cho and NPH (Neil Patrick Harris), word on the film has been very quiet for months, but now, we’ve finally received our first look at the picture thanks to EW (online version not up yet). Shot in 3D, or at least partially in 3D, the film also features appearances by Danny Trejo, Elias Koteas, Thomas Lennon, David Krumholtz, Patton Oswalt and object of affection Paul Garces.

While creators and writers Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg directed the underrated “Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay,” this third ‘Christmas’ film was directed by little known television, commercial film and short-film filmmaker Todd Strauss-Schulson.

Due in theaters on November 4, Strauss-Schulson tells EW that the film is a “straight-up Christmas movie,” only one that apparently features robots, 3D smoke rings, lesbian nuns and a raunchy musical cameo by NPH (wait, only just a cameo? Say it ain’t so). He describes the picture as ultimately being “epically absurd.” God, we sure as shit hope so. A bigger look at the first look photo after the jump.
