Out with old “Avengers” and in with new ones. Maybe it’s not totally clear, but it should be. With Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans having hung up the hats of their characters and Scarlett Johansson getting a proper goodbye in “Black Widow,” Marvel is preparing to say goodbye to most of the original A6. Another sort of goodbye is coming in the fall with “Hawkeye.” Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) follows the story in the comics where he passes on the Hawkeye torch to Kate Bishop (much like the way Florence Pugh‘s Yelena is seemingly becoming the new Widow following the events of that film). Hailee Steinfeld will play the young Bishop, and while you’ve surely seen set images floating around by now, EW just revealed the first official look of the series which we now know is coming in November.

“[Kate is] a 22-year-old kid, and she’s a big Hawkeye fan,” Renner told EW this week. “She has a wonderfully annoying and equally charming manner about her because she’s such a fangirl of Hawkeye. The relationship grows from that, but the biggest problem for Clint is Kate Bishop and the onslaught of problems that she brings into his life.”

Fanboys and fangirls are likely another theme you’re going to see in Marvel in the future as “Ms. Marvel,” likely coming in December of this year, though not official, features Kamala Khan who is a big fan and inspired by Captain Marvel (which is why she’s turning up in “The Marvels” film coming in 2022.
‘Echo’: Marvel Studios Developing A Spinoff Of The Upcoming ‘Hawkeye’ Series
The “Hawkeye” series will also include Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James, and Alaqua Cox. A spin-off series focused on Cox’s character Maya Lopez / “Echo” is in development, so clearly, Marvel has high hopes for the series. Additionally, if you saw the post-credits scene of “Black Widow,” you know Pugh will be reprising her role as Yelena/Black Widow on the series.
Lastly, rumors have swirled that Vincent D’Onofrio will be reprising his Netflix/Marvel role as the Kingpin in the series. While that’s usually something can usually scoff at or file under: take with a pinch of salt, the actor actually shared the news on Twitter (more than once), and put some of the stories in his Twitter bio and seemingly confirmed it before later taking it down. Blind enthusiasm for rumors or something more? Wait and see (he’s rumored to show up near the end of the series, FYI). Given Evan Peters (sort of) turning up as Quicksilver in “WandaVision,” one assumes anything is possible for Marvel doing some Fox/Netflix re-casting.

“That was always my role. Outside of acting in the thing, I was protecting her and giving her the CliffsNotes on how it goes with this kind of filmmaking: Green screen, superhero life, all that stuff,” Renner said about helping Steinfeld ease into the role. “I just wanted to protect her because there’s a lot of physical stuff. She’s a wonderful actress, a wonderful human, and I can’t wait to see all the cool stuff that she’s able to do.”
