Just at the end of last year, it was revealed that big changes were in store for HBO‘s "The Leftovers." The show was getting a creative reboot, and relocating from the setting of Mapleton, New York for its second season. Other than that, details were scarce, but now we’re getting a better sense of just where the show will go when it drops viewers back into the world where nothing has been the same since 2% of the world’s population disappeared.
TVLine reports that the second season will take place in Texas. Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, Chris Zylka, Margaret Qualley, Christopher Eccleston and Carrie Coon will be back and presumably reprising their roles, but obviously, no word yet on the story. And it should be noted that Texas isn’t a completely new setting for the show. In the Season 1 episode "B.J. And The A.C.," Tom and Christine spent some time hiding out in the state while on the run.
More answers will hopefully be coming soon as production gears up this month. No word yet on a premiere date, but we presume the second season will arrive before the year is out.
