'High Life' Exclusive Clip: Robert Pattinson & Andre Benjamin Talk Family & Space Gardening In Claire Denis' Wild Film

If you’ve been following our site for the last year, you know we’ve absolutely fallen in love with Claire Denis’ batshit crazy sci-fi film “High Life.” We so desperately want to talk about all the ins and outs (perhaps not the best choice of words) of the film, but many of you have yet to see it.

However, with the film already beginning its rollout in theaters, we are pleased to present an exclusive clip of the film featuring stars Robert Pattinson and Andre Benjamin, which should tease enough to get you to buy your tickets as soon as possible. For those not familiar with the film, “High Life” tells the story of a group of convicts sent on a mission in space as part of an experiment near the closest black hole to Earth. But honestly, that short summary does little to tell you what you’re going to see in Denis’ incredible film.

As mentioned, the film stars Pattinson and Benjamin. However, those two are joined by Juliette Binoche and Mia Goth in the cast. “High Life” was directed by Denis, who co-wrote the film with Jean-Pol Fargeau and Geoff Cox.

Here’s the synopsis:

Deep space. Beyond our solar system. Monte and his infant daughter Willow live together aboard a spacecraft, in complete isolation. A solitary man, whose strict self-discipline is a protection against desire –his own and that of others– Monte fathered the girl against his will. His sperm was used to inseminate Boyse, the young woman who gave birth to her. They were members of a crew of prisoners: space convicts, death row inmates. Guinea pigs sent on a mission to the black hole closest to Earth. Now only Monte and Willow remain. And Monte is changed. Through his daughter, for the first time, he experiences the birth of an all-powerful love. Willow grows, becoming a young girl, then a young woman.
