Imagine having Nicolas Cage as your linguistics professor. That would be amazing, right? Well, thanks to Netflix, we don’t need to imagine what that might look like. With “The History of Swear Words,” Nicolas Cage will spend six episodes telling you the origins of some of the most vulgar words in the English language.
The trailer for “The History of Swear Words” begins and ends with some of the best Nicolas Cage moments ever. The opening moments just have Cage being full-on wild screaming “FUCK!” at the top of his lungs. And the ending of the trailer features what might be my new ringtone (do people change their ringtones anymore?) where he says, “I’m Nicolas Cage, let’s get fucked.” How amazing is that!?
Joining Cage in the series are Joel Kim Booster, DeRay Davis, Open Mike Eagle, Nikki Glaser, Patti Harrison, London Hughes, Jim Jefferies, Zainab Johnson, Nick Offerman, Sarah Silverman, Baron Vaughn, and Isiah Whitlock Jr. The showrunner and executive producer on “The History of Swar Words” is Bellamie Blackstone.
