With "Young Adult" rolling into theaters this weekend, and the press tour of duty winding down, it looks like Diablo Cody can put her full attention back on her directorial debut, which has added a cast member but lost a title.
Deadline reports that the Oscar-winning and immensely talented Holly Hunter has climbed aboard the project, which apparently has dropped its previous title of "Lamb Of God." With Rick Perry idiotically declaring that there is a war on religion, that's probably the right way to go. The wild story follows a young Christian girl (Julianne Hough), who survives a plane crash but is left with horrific burns. With her faith gone, she travels to Las Vegas in order to experience the more sinful side of life, and befriends Loray (Octavia Spencer), a craps dealer, and William (Russell Brand), a bartender. Hunter will play Hough's conservative and overprotective mother.
Filming on the project will kick off the in spring, with Hunter set to re-unite with Jane Campion in Australia to lens the miniseries "Top Of The Lake" before that. No release dates or anything, but we'd guess Park City might see Cody in 2013.
