‘Homeland’ Star Damian Lewis Joins Nicole Kidman In Werner Herzog's ‘Queen Of The Desert’

Brit actor Damian Lewis has been in the game for a while now but it’s probably fair to say that American audiences probably didn’t pay much attention until he popped up as Nicholas Brody in Showtime‘s hit “Homeland.” Now the Golden Globe and Emmy winning actor is using the bounce that that kind of hardware provides to book a gig working with Werner Herzog and Nicole Kidman.

The actor has come aboard the forever developing “Queen Of The Desert.” The true story drama will follow Gertrude Bell (Kidman), the traveler, writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer, and political attaché for the British Empire at the dawn of the twentieth century who played a crucial role in the development of the Middle East as we know it. Lewis will play Lieutenant Colonel Charles Doughty-Wylie who has an affair with Bell. Hot.

But what about Robert Pattinson, you dedicated fans want to know? Well, he’s not mentioned in Deadline‘s report at all, but presumably he’s still attached to play T.E. Lawrence aka Lawrence Of Arabia in the flick. We’ll likely find out soon enough as cameras will roll in December.
