Honest Trailer For 'mother!': It's Hard To Date A Famous Person

Darren Aronofsky‘s “mother!” was certainly the most movie of 2017. His gonzo film put the Bible, environmentalism, fame, gender roles, and more into a blender, and he poured out the chunky concoction all over the big screen. Some people loved it, others hated it, but opinions on either side were very strong, with few sitting lukewarm in the middle. And what better way to keep saying farewell to the past year, than with another look at the movie.

Screen Junkies has given “mother!” the Honest Trailer treatment, and appropriately, they zero in on how utterly WTF the entire endeavor is. In the plain light of day, a movie about a poet with writer’s block, uninvited guests, and a home makeover gone wild, sounds ridiculous. In execution….well, it’s also still kinda ridiculous, at least to me. That’s not even without getting into the film’s Important Messages which are delivered like a sledgehammer through drywall, crashing down like a bunch of people breaking a sink. Not to mention, this film is the best argument for never dating a famous person ever.

So, throw on a few scarves and dive into this honest look at “mother!”
