It looks like Hollywood is swinging for the fences, going for the grandaddy of Western canon literature: Homer’s "The Odyssey." That grand work will now be reduced/adapted into a blockbuster movie, with an actor who knows a thing or two about green screens and CGI.
The Wrap reports that The Wolverine, a.k.a. Hugh Jackman, is in early talks to star in the movie for Lionsgate. Francis Lawrence ("I Am Legend," "The Hunger Games: All The Movies Except The First One") will direct the movie that sees our hero venture home from the Trojan War and writing poetry. Nah, just joking, he’s going to have some epic adventures.

Peter Craig ("The Town," "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1") wrote the script, and if all goes according to plan, shooting will kick off next year.
