While we're probably not going to know what exactly writer Damon Lindelof and director Brad Bird have cooking up with the mysterious "Tomorrowland" until they're good and ready to lift the curtain, there are already some pretty elaborate theories floating out there. But one thing we do know is that the movie won't have a shortage of star power.
With George Clooney already on board, "House" star Hugh Laurie is in negotiations to join the movie as the antagonist (we'd wager "villain" is probably too strong a word), and that's all anyone is going to say for now. It will be his first tentpole-sized outing, though he was originally slated to be the baddie in "RoboCop" before he dropped out and was replaced by Michael Keaton. Again, not too many details are known except that it will be similar in spirit to "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind," which is a good thing to be referencing.
"Tomorrowland" opens on December 19, 2014. [THR]
