Considering Jermaine Dupri’s controversial recent comments about female rappers—all they ever talk about is sex and strippers, lol, like male rappers haven’t talked about sex, drugs and the same ol kind of boasting for four decades—maybe now’s a good time to have a frank conversation about strippers. And or, the trailer for STX’s “Hustlers,” about former strippers who pull a con job on Wall Street elites, feels well-timed.

Written and directed by Lorene Scafaria—”Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist” and “Seeking a Friend for the End of the World”— “Hustlers” had a difficult birth. Originally produced by Jessica Elbaum, Will Ferrell and Adam McKay under their Gloria Sanchez Productions banner, while they remain, the movie was supposed to be co-produced and financed by Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures. At the eleventh hour, Annapurna got cold feet, dropped the picture and STX Entertainment came in to save the day. So “Hustlers” lived to see another day and this heist movie/modern Robin Hood, steal-from-the-rich-give-to-the-poor (and themselves) caper comes out in the fall.

“Hustlers” stars Constance Wu, Jennifer Lopez, Julia Stiles, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, Lizzo, and rapper and real-life former stripper Cardi B. Usher, Frank Whaley, Trace Lysette and Mercedes Ruehl co-star. Here’s the official synopsis:

Hustlers follows a crew of savvy former strip club employees who band together to turn the tables on their Wall Street clients. The film is inspired by the article published by New York Magazine entitled “The Hustlers at Scores” written by Jessica Pressler.
