Imogen Poots Spotted Shooting 'Knight Of Cups' With Christian Bale; Terrence Malick Meeting With Benicio Del Toro?

Knight Of CupsSo far, set photos have revealed the involvement Wes Bentley, Neon Indian frontman Alan Palomo, The Cult and Matthew McConaughey on the pair of new Terrence Malick films, "Knight Of Cups" and the project formerly known as "Lawless." Now, thanks again to the trigger-happy paps, another piece of casting has possibly been revealed with rising British actress Imogen Poots spotted shooting with the film's star Christian Bale.

Even though Poots' punk rock look here would probably be well-suited for "Lawless," which follows intersecting love triangles set in the Austin music world, the helmer is shooting "Knight Of Cups" first with "Lawless" star Rooney Mara previously noting that she wouldn't be reuniting with Malick until September.

That means Poots is likely joining Bale, Bentley, Natalie Portman, Cate Blanchett and possibly Isabel Lucas for "Knight Of Cups." The Playlist favorite has been spreading her wings recently, slowly justifying our placement of her on our Rising Actresses feature in late 2010 with roles in "Jane Eyre," "Fright Night" and a host of indies including "A Late Quartet," "Filth," "The King Of Soho," "A Long Way Down" and "Greetings From Tim Buckley" coming up.

It remains to be seen what type of role she's taking on here (or even if it will stay in the final cut) but it looks like she's arguing with Bale before the two make up and he carries her away on his back. And what is the film about anyway? Well, all we really know is that the title is a reference to a tarot card that represents a contradiction, mood shift or change of mode, particularly pertaining to love and relationships. This seemingly hints at some sort of romantic drama, which has kinda been Malick's wheelhouse lately with the upcoming "To The Wonder" also tackling the subject of love.

Another little Malick-related tidbit was a surprise spotting of the director on TMZ of all places. Yep, our favorite recluse was caught on camera by the most infamous of gossip sites (they didn't recognize him) but perhaps most interesting was the fact that he was spotted with Benicio Del Toro in Brentwood, Los Angeles. The two were, of course, set to team on "Che" years ago before that broke down and was taken over by Steven Soderbergh, who had stepped aside for Malick in the first place. Could there be something else in the works between Malick and Del Toro now? We'll have to wait and see, but, god, we hope so. Check out Malick acting all awkward and trying to avoid the camera as Del Toro just laughs things off — all starting at 3:15. [ChristianBale.Org]
