The film brings together Logan Marshall-Green and Freida Pinto as the ill-fated pair. Marshall-Green’s work with “The Defeated” shows he is more than capable of handling the depth of his character, but it’s Pinto who is poised to lead the project. The actress proved to be a great addition to season three of “The Path.” She’s also known for her work with the dramatic series “Guerilla.” In both cases, Pinto took on roles with surprising motivations that bubble to the surface. It’s a roadmap for what she can do with this film’s dark content and psychological elements.

Director Adam Salky comes to the project with credits covering film, TV, and shorts. His most notable title, “I Smile Back,” also deals with a wife in the midst of a crisis. Salky directs a script from writer Chris Sparling, the writer behind “Greenland” and the announced sequel “Greenland: Migration.” The film and its sequel show Sparling’s ability to introduce various action levels to the standard thriller structure.
