Amazon, the online shopping destination slash purveyor of e-books slash TV and movie production house has already proven quite capable of handling original series. Its freshman comedy “Transparent” nabbed two prestigious Golden Globes just this past weekend. Jeffrey Tambor (of “Arrested Development” fame, among many other things) took home the prize for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy TV Series, and the show itself won best show in the musical/comedy category. Could "Bosch" big their next big hit?
Amazon Studios has released a trailer for its upcoming series. Based on the novels by Michael Connelly, the show centers on Los Angeles homicide detective Harry Bosch, whose mother — a prostitute — was murdered when Bosch was just a boy. That death helped turn Bosch into the man he is today, a cop on trial for fatally shooting a suspected serial killer.
Titus Welliver plays the titular troubled detective. Welliver is no newcomer to scripted series — Sci-fi and comic book fans might recognize him as Agent Felix Blake from Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” and he’s had recurring roles in “Sons of Anarchy,” “White Collar,” and “The Good Wife,” among many others. Jamie Hector (Marlo Stanfield on “The Wire”) and Annie Wersching (Renee Walker, “24”) are also regulars. Connelly created the show.
The entire first season of “Bosch” will be available to binge — er, we mean stream — on Prime Instant Video February 13th. In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
