Even though the saga is over, and J.K. Rowling has long determined that the adventures of Harry Potter is over, she can’t perhaps help but tinker and wonder. After all, she is writing a movie series based on the Hogwarts textbook, “Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them,” and now she’s openly speculating as to whether or not she was true enough to her “Harry Potter” characters.
In an interview between Rowling and Hermione herself, Emma Watson, in this weekend’s Sunday Times, the author admitted that Harry should’ve wound up with Hermione, not Ron, adding that Hermione and Ron probably would’ve gone to marriage counselling. So why did she pair off Hermione and Ron? “For reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron,” she explained.
“I know, I’m sorry, I can hear the rage and fury it might cause some fans, but if I’m absolutely honest, distance has given me perspective on that. It was a choice I made for very personal reasons, not for reasons of credibility,” the author added. “Am I breaking people’s hearts by saying this? I hope not.”
Watson also agreed with the Harry Potter creator, saying: “I think there are fans out there who know that too and who wonder whether Ron would have really been able to make her happy.”
