James Badge Dale Gets Back In The Saddle For 'The Lone Ranger' As Dan Reid

nullBefore the whole budget crisis struck Gore Verbinski, Jerry Bruckheimer and Johnny Depp's "The Lone Ranger," a cast was being lined up that included James Badge Dale. Well, even with the delays and budget cuts and generally worrying over how many hundreds of millions need to be spent on this, everyone who was on board previously — Armie Hammer, Tom Wilkinson, Ruth Wilson, Dwight Yoakam, Helena Bonham Carter, etc. — are back, and that list includes Mr. Dale, according to Deadline.

The star of "The Pacific" and "Rubicon" may not be well known just yet — at the arthouse this winter, he's the guy who tells Michael Fassbender in "Shame" his hard drive is filthy — you'll be seeing a lot more of this face. He'll be in "World War Z" and Robert Zemeckis' "Flight" in 2012 and now with this TV show turned movie, he's got another big project in his arsenal. He comes on board "The Lone Ranger," as Dan Reid, our hero's brother and an ex-ranger himself. Going from solid cable shows to solid facetime with both Brad Pitt and Depp? Good work, agents.

But it's not all roses. Apparently, Dale was one of the names being tossed around to be Bruce Willis' son in "A Good Day To Die Hard" but his involvement here, will keep him out of that movie. Probably for the best, anyway. "The Lone Ranger" rides into production next month, and will hit theaters on May 31, 2013.
