Jamie Dornan is perhaps best known as portraying Christian Grey in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” series. In the new film, Dornan’s Will Scarlet will fight alongside Taron Edgerton’s Robin Hood and Jamie Foxx as Little John, with Eve Hewson starring as Maid Marian. ‘Origins’ is scripted by Joby Harold, will be directed by Bathurst, and will find Robin just beginning his life as an outlaw after fighting in the crusades.
There have been dozens of Robin Hood films over the decades. The last attempt to reboot the legend was in 2010 when director Ridley Scott and star Russell Crowe released “Robin Hood.” That film, with a $200 million price tag, grossed over $321 million worldwide.
No release date yet for “Robin Hood: Origins,” but it looks like things are gearing up to get rolling soon.
