Jamie Foxx Shows Off His Six-Shooter In New Wintry 'Django Unchained' Image

nullIt's Jamie Foxx in an olive-drab coat and cowboy hat.  It's an old-school six-shooter and it's the winter time. it can't be anything other than a new image from Quentin Tarantino's upcoming slave/vengeance epic "Django Unchained."

Set in the South two years before the Civil War, "Django Unchained" stars Academy Award-winner Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz ("Inglourious Basterds" star Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles – dead or alive. Success leads Schultz to free Django, though the two men choose not to go their separate ways. Instead, Schultz seeks out the South’s most wanted criminals with Django by his side.  Honing vital hunting skills, Django remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), the wife he lost to the slave trade long ago.

Also starring Leonardo DiCaprio as the main villain in the film and featuring appearances by Samuel L. Jackson, Jonah Hill, Don Johnson, Walton Goggins, RZA, Tom Wopat and more, the main question we have is – is this more of the same revenge, genre/pop-culture remixing for Tarantino or is it something different? And maybe more importantly, if it is exactly as it looks, will most audiences be A OK with that? (Our guess would be yes). We'll find out during the holidays. The Weinstein Company will release "Django Unchained" on December 25th.
