Jared Leto In Talks To Play A Serial Killer Opposite Denzel Washington & Rami Malek In ‘The Little Things’

Jared Leto seems like the perfect actor to play a serial killer, right? No offense to Mr. Leto, but when you send your co-stars used condoms and dead rats when you’re starring in a superhero film (allegedly, at least, on the set of “The Suicide Squad”), then it’s clear that you know how to tap into the darker side of life. So, it shouldn’t be terribly surprising that in the upcoming film “The Little Things,” we might be getting a glimpse at Leto going full-on creepy and murderous.

According to Variety, Leto is in talks to portray the serial killer antagonist in the upcoming film “The Little Things,” which is said to be written and directed by John Lee Hancock. The film currently has Denzel Washington and Rami Malek attached to play two police officers designated to investigate a series of linked murders. However, there’s more to Washington’s cop character than meets the eye, and a dark secret from his past threatens to resurface.

Leto is currently in production on another superhero film, “Morbius,” which is part of Sony’s new Spider-Man-less Marvel Universe that was introduced last year with “Venom.” Before that, his most recent film was the Netflix original film “The Outsider.”

As mentioned, the film comes from writer-director Hancock, who is best known for his work on films like “The Blind Side,” “Saving Mr. Banks,” “The Founder,” and this year’s “The Highwaymen,” which starred Woody Harrelson and Kevin Costner.

No word on when “The Little Things” might be arriving in theaters. Warner Bros. is expected to begin production on the crime thriller this fall, which leaves late-2020 as a likely window for the film to arrive in theaters.
