Jared Leto Threatens Film Fans Across The World By Saying He "Would Definitely" Play The Joker Again

Think what you will about David Ayer’s 2016 film, “Suicide Squad.” Some say it’s fun and a highlight in the DCEU thanks to strong showings from Will Smith and Margot Robbie. Others consider it a dumpster fire that couldn’t even be saved by the aforementioned performances. However, no matter what you think about the quality of the film, it’s safe to say we can all agree that Jared Leto’s version of the Joker in the film is…unique.

With the tattoos, clothes, and gold teeth, many would say that Leto’s character earned the nickname, “Juggalo Joker.” (If you don’t know what that’s in reference of, then just take a gander here.)

And in a new interview with Variety, while in the middle of filming the upcoming “Morbius,” a dapperly dressed Leto was asked about the future of his DC villain character, and if we might see him in one of the upcoming films.

Specifically, Leto was asked about the upcoming “Birds of Prey,” which stars his “Suicide Squad” compadre Robbie as Harley Quinn. Many rumors have been floating around since 2016 that the duo of Harley and Mister J will show up in another film together. But if that were to happen, it doesn’t appear that it’ll be in ‘Birds.’

“I don’t think so, but you have to ask them,” said Leto about a possible appearance in the upcoming film.

That being said, the actor isn’t ruling out putting on the clown makeup one more time.

“I would definitely play the Joker again, yeah,” the actor said.”I mean it all depends on the script and the circumstances, as it always does.”

Of course, when you get one Joker actor in a room, you have to ask about another version of the Batman villain. And when Leto is asked about the new trailer for Joaquin Phoenix’s upcoming solo film, “Joker,” the actor is unable to provide any critique.

“No, I haven’t seen it. No,” Leto replied.

Leto was then asked the age-old question – why hasn’t Warner Bros.’ DC films hit as bit as Disney’s Marvel films? His reply was simple, saying that the DC films are competing, and “just ask Jason Momoa.” Of course, Leto is bringing up the massive $1+ billion success of “Aquaman.”

Ultimately, he agrees that not every film has been a hit, but he says that no one is perfect.

“I think DC is doing okay, man,” he concluded.

Leto’s first Marvel superhero film, “Morbius,” is expected to hit theaters on July 30, 2020.
