It appears that Jared Leto might have found his own Prestige TV project in an industry where actors are snatching up roles in TV series left and right. And for Leto, it would involve playing one of the more detested CEOs in recent memory.

According to Deadline, Leto is in talks to star in the upcoming Apple TV+ series, “WeCrashed,” which tells the story of the rise and fall of WeWork under the leadership of polarizing CEO, Adam Neumann. The series will track how WeWork turned from a simple start-up to a company with a $47 billion valuation and on the verge of a massive IPO offering. But then things started to fall apart.
If Leto signs on, it will be his first major TV work in decades, mainly since he starred in “My So-Called Life” on MTV back in the mid-‘90s. Since then, of course, Leto has appeared in a number of major blockbusters and award-winning features. He’s even won his own Oscar for his role in the film, “Dallas Buyer’s Club.” His more recent projects include an upcoming appearance in Zack Snyder’s director’s cut of “Justice League” and a forthcoming ‘Tron’ sequel that is currently in the works at Disney.
“WeCrashed” is written by Lee Eisenberg and Drew Crevello. The series is expected to be directed by “This is Us” filmmakers, Glenn Ficarra and John Requa. Interestingly enough, back when “Suicide Squad” was released in 2017, Ficarra and Requa were also reportedly developing a “Joker” film that would have starred Leto. Perhaps, after that fell apart, the two filmmakers and Leto decided to work on this instead?
There’s no release date set for “WeCrashed,” but it joins the long list of high-profile projects featuring A-list talent that is in development over at Apple TV+.
