Jennifer Lawrence & Amy Schumer Team Up To Write A Screenplay Together

Jennifer Lawrence Amy SchumerIt was the Instagram pic heard ’round the world. Okay, maybe more like reblogged and socialed across the internet, but it seems like Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer are more than just jet-ski and human pyramid pals. In fact, they are working on a movie together.

The New York Times reports that the duo are writing a screenplay. It happened pretty simply, with Lawrence emailing Schumer after seeing "Trainwreck," and from there they became fast friends, and one thing led to another.

“We play sisters,” Lawrence said about the script. “We’re almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We’ve got about 100 pages right now. Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavors. It’s been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up. I’m flying out tomorrow to see her in Chicago. We’ll write a little bit with her sister, Kim [Caramele], who worked with Amy when she was writing ‘Trainwreck.’”

No word yet on where the screenplay will go when they’re done, but maybe Judd Apatow will take a look? Needless to say, executives around town are going to want to take a peek and a big screen pairing of Lawrence and Schumer sounds potentially great. Hopefully this one doesn’t just get finished and filed away in a drawer.
