Jennifer Lawrence’s ‘House At The End Of The Street’ Opens February 3, 2012

About a week after Relativity picked up the Jennifer Lawrence indie thriller “House at the End of the Street,” they’ve now pegged it with a release date.

Thompson On Hollywood reveals that the film will hit theaters on February 3, 2012. It’s pretty free and clear weekend so far with the only competition coming in the form of “Chronicle,” a “Cloverfield”-style found-footage take on the genre, following a trio of teens who gain superpowers, only to turn on each other. And the film should definitely be helped by the sure-to-be deafening buzz around “Hunger Games,” which will open less than two months later on March 23rd.

To refresh your memory, the film co-stars Elisabeth Shue and Max Theriot (”Jumper”), and directed by Mark Tonderai (”Hush”) and written by David Loucka (”Dream House”). The compact little thriller tells the story about a new kid in town who unearths a dark secret about the new home in which she lives. It turns out it was the home where a double murder took place, and even stranger, she’s befriended one of the survivors of the incident.

Kind of sounds low-rent to be honest, but with Jennifer Lawrence involved we’re definitely curious and other than this film, it might be a while before we see her again in non-tentpole fare.
