Jessica Biel & Sofia Vergara Join Garry Marshall's 'New Year's Eve'

Two more female stars are in negotiations to appear in Garry Marshall‘s ensemble comedy “New Year’s Eve,” which pretty much follows the exact formula of his successful 2009 film, “Valentine’s Day” — only this time following the disparate, up-and-down love lives of people looking to ring in the New Year.

Jessica Biel and “Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara are the latest to join the film that already includes Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank, Ashton Kutcher, Abigail Breslin, “Glee” star Lea Michele, and possibly rumored musicians like Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber.

Biel played an unloved neurotic in “Valentine’s Day,” but clearly Marshall doesn’t mind reusing some of the same cast in new roles. There’s no info on her role, but she will be playing a new character.

Currently set for a December 9, 2011 release, we’ll assume many more name actors — perhaps more from TV, as seems to be the trend — will be joining the cast before it goes in front of cameras in mid-Decemeber in New York. [THR]
