Jessica Chastain Tracks A Serial Killer Played By Eddie Redmayne In Upcoming Film 'The Good Nurse'

Eddie Redmayne might not be the first actor you think of when you imagine a homicidal maniac that murdered approximately 300 people, but hey, he’s a great actor and can probably pull it off!

Deadline is reporting that Redmayne is going to star next to Jessica Chastain in the upcoming film “The Good Nurse.” And don’t let the title mislead you, as the story follows the real-life crimes of Charlie Cullen, who is far from a “good” nurse. You see, Cullen, who is also known as the “Angel of Death,” was a nurse that is regarded as one of the most prolific serial killers in history. He is allegedly responsible for the deaths of almost 300 patients over almost two decades. He was eventually caught when a fellow nurse aided some Newark homicide detectives in tracking down his crimes and catching him.

As you might guess, Redmayne is signing on to play Cullen, while Chastain will play the brave nurse that risked everything to find him. “The Good Nurse” is written by Krysty Wilson-Cairns, who is probably best known for her work on the TV series “Penny Dreadful,” as well as the upcoming films “1917” and “The Voyeur’s Motel.”

Director Tobias Lindholm will make his English-language debut with the film. Lindholm is the director responsible for the Oscar-nominated 2015 film “A War.” He has also helmed the films “A Hijacking,” “Submarino,” and “R.”

As for where you can see Redmayne and Chastain before “A Good Nurse,” the two actors have quite the slate ahead of them. Soon, you’ll see Redmayne star in the franchise film “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.” However, he is twice-nominated for Oscars, winning one for his film “The Theory of Everything.” Chastain, who also has two Oscar noms to her credit, has “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” coming next year, and will be seen in the all-star female spy thriller “355.”
