You’d be hard-pressed to find three stronger actors working today than Benedict Cumberbatch, Jodie Foster, and Shailene Woodley. And yet, in the upcoming film “Prisoner 760,” film fans are going to be able to watch them all together on the big screen.
According to Variety, Foster, Cumberbatch, Woodley, and actor Tahar Rahim have all signed on to star in the upcoming film “Prisoner 760,” which is set to be directed by Kevin Macdonald. The film is said to follow the true story of Mohamedou Ould Slahi (Rahim), a US prisoner that is held captive in prison for years without charges or a trial. That all changes when a lawyer (Foster) and her assistant (Woodley) work together to attempt to free the man from imprisonment. However, they’re met with resistance by the military prosecutor, Lt. Stuart Couch (Cumberbatch).
As mentioned, the film is directed by Macdonald, who is probably best known for the documentary “Touching the Void,” as well as narrative films “The Last King of Scotland” and the political thriller “State of Play.” The script is written by Michael Bronner, a former “60 Minutes” producer who has contributed help and research to films such as “United 93,” “Green Zone,” and “Captain Phillips.”

There’s no release date for “Prisoner 760” as of now, but production on the film is said to begin in South Africa in early December. That points to a likely late-2020 release date, or maybe even a fall film festival run, if possible.
