John Krasinski Would "Love" To Star In 'Fantastic Four' Reboot But He Has "No Idea" What Marvel Is Planning

John Krasinski is an actor that actually has links to the Marvel Cinematic Universe dating back to the mega-franchise’s infancy. According to most reports, Krasinski was one of a few actors that were up for the role of Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, but, obviously, lost out to Chris Evans. However, according to a new interview with Total Film (via GamesRadar), the actor is ready, willing, and able to jump into the MCU in the upcoming “Fantastic Four” reboot.

“You’re like, ‘Do you have any interest in not shattering people’s dreams?'” Krasinski said. “I would love to be in the Marvel universe. I love those movies because they’re fun, but I also think they’re really well done. And certainly a lot of my friends are in those movies. I have no idea what [Marvel] are thinking. But if they are considering me for Mr. Fantastic, continue to consider me because I would love it.”

For years now, since it was clear that Disney would buy Fox and Marvel Studios would get access to the Fantastic Four, Krasinski’s name has been at the top of a ton of fan wishlists for the role of Mr. Fantastic, aka Reed Richards. In fact, people are so married to the idea of him as the father of the team, fans want Krasinski’s real-life wife, Emily Blunt, to star opposite as Richards’ wife, Sue Storm. But as of now, Marvel has only confirmed that “Fantastic Four” would be part of the plan, but there’s no idea about when we might see the team show up.

Considering “A Quiet Place” and the upcoming sequel are proving that Krasinski might be as much of a force in the director’s chair as he is in front of the camera, perhaps there’s a possibility that the actor-turned-filmmaker would be interested in helming a Marvel film. Well, according to Krasinski, that isn’t likely.

“Oh man, directing one of those things? I don’t think I’m your guy. But if I was to act in one? I’d have so much fun,” he explained.

If you want to see Krasinski in a film soon, you’ll have to check out “A Quiet Place II,” hitting theaters on March 20.
