At the beginning of the year, we learned that writer-director Taylor Sheridan had lined up Angelina Jolie to star in his upcoming film, “Those Who Wish Me Dead.” That was plenty to get us excited by the new film. However, with the latest casting announcements, it appears that Sheridan has once again lined up an impressive group of actors for a project.
Deadline is reporting that Jolie will be joined by Jon Bernthal, Nicholas Hoult, Aiden Gillen, Tyler Perry, Medina Senghore, Finn Little, and Jake Weber in the upcoming thriller. “Those Who Wish Me Dead” is said to follow a teenage boy that is given a new identity and placed in a wilderness survival program after witnessing a brutal murder. However, while in this program, he is being chased in the forest by killers, all while trying to deal with a wildfire in Montana. Yep, this sounds like a Taylor Sheridan film, and we couldn’t be happier.

Bernthal, judging by his previous work, is most likely going to be a bad guy in the film, right? He’s best known for his recent role as the titular character in Netflix’s “Punisher” series, but he’s pretty much the best out there at being a bad, slightly insane killer. In addition to his Netflix series, he’s appeared in “Widows,” “The Wolf of Wall Street,” and “Baby Driver.” He’s also appeared in Sheridan’s last film, “Wind River.”
Hoult is a rising star, having appeared in the recent ‘X-Men’ films, as well as a scene-stealing role in “Mad Max: Fury Road.” He’ll next be seen in “Dark Phoenix” and the upcoming “Tolkien.”
There’s no word on when ‘Dead’ will arrive in theaters. Sheridan is currently wrapping up work on the second season of “Yellowstone,” which he writes and directs. This film will mark his first feature since 2017’s “Wind River.”
