Jonah Hill Confirms 'Machete' Link, Morgan Freeman Teams With Bruce Willis For 'Red,' DiCaprio Trying To Revive 'Twilight Zone'

Looks like rumors regarding Jonah Hill’s involvement with Robert Rodriguez’s “Machete” was on the right track — the actor revealed that he received a call from the director who proceed to send him the script which he will be reading imminently. However, any done-deal is premature, he still has to read the screenplay and decide if he wants to do it. [Collider]

On top of helping to adapt, D.C. Comics properties “Aquaman” & “Adam Strange” via his Appian Way production company, Leonardo DiCaprio is also teaming up with Warner Brothers to bring the “Twilight Zone” to the silver screen. Rand Ravich, whose credits include TV’s “Life” and “The Astronaut’s Wife,” will be writing the script. [Variety]

Comic “Red” which follows the story of a former black-ops CIA agent whose retirement is interrupted when a high-tech assassin shows up intent on killing him. Richard Kelly has revealed a “new” poster for his upcoming “Twilight Zone”-ish film, “The Box,” which is pretty much exactly like the last one only this time it also features the faces of James Marsden and Frank Langella.

Viola Davis has joined the cast of “Eat, Pray, Love,” Ryan Murphy’s adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert’s memoir about a woman (Roberts) who sets out on an international journey of self-discovery after enduring a terrible divorce. Will this ever end? The rights to ’80s cartoon “Voltron” have been acquired by a group of producers with their eye on a live-action adaptation now that other studios have passed. The cartoon centers on a band of five robot-lions who combine to form one super lion to assist in defending the planet Arus from villain King Zarkon. The project was at Fox last year (indeed, a script has been floating around online for months, but it went into turn-around. Someone probably smells/hopes for “Transformers”-like success.
