Julia Roberts In Talks For Tarsem's 3D 'Brothers Grimm: Snow White'

Can’t keep track of the trifecta of Snow White movies in development? We don’t blame you. Just as Kristen Stewart has entered negotiations for “Snow White And The Huntsman” for Universal this evening, and Michael Arndt came aboard to write “Snow And The Seven” for Disney yesterday, Relativity Media have countered with news of one of the biggest stars in the world now in talks for their film.

Vulture reports that Julia Roberts is now in talks to star in “Brothers Grimm: Snow White.” Set to be directed by Tarsem (“The Cell,” “The Fall“) the film would hew closer to a Brothers Grimm-like tale, and begins with Snow White’s step-mother killing her father, the young girl fleeing her kingdom only to return with seven contentious dwarves to rightfully regain what is hers. Roberts would play the Evil Queen — she was courted for the role in December — and the film has a script by Melisa Wallack, who penned the little seen, “Meet Bill,” with Aaron Eckhart and Jessica Alba.

So, will any of these pictures blink first, fold and retreat quietly into the night or are we really going to have three Snow White based movies in the next couple of years? We’re more interested to see how that plays out than any of the actual films and guys, there is more than one fairy tale out their to reboot, retell or add ninjas to, okay? You all don’t have to follow like lemmings over the same development cliff….
