Julianne Moore Is Going To Fall For Michael Angarano In 'The English Teacher'

Has rising actor Michael Angarano found his niche? After romancing Uma Thurman in “Ceremony” earlier this year, he’s next going to put the moves on another attractive, older woman.

Variety reports that the actor has joined “The English Teacher” starring Julianne Moore. Marking the feature directorial debut of Craig Zisk, whose TV credits include “The Big C” and “Weeds,” from a script by Dan and Stacy Charlton, the story follows a high school English teacher (Moore) whose life is turned upside when a failed playwright and former student (Angarano) returns to town and she begins to fall in love with him. Nathan Lane and Greg Kinnear round out the cast, the former as a drama teacher at the school (naturally) and the latter in an unspecified part. The premise seems fairly ordinary, but we reckon there’s got to be something more to it if Moore is leading the pic.

The film marks another interesting move from Angarano, whose resume already boasts work with names like Cameron Crowe, Steven Soderbergh, Kevin Smith and David Gordon Green. You may have seen him this summer in “The Art of Getting By” or “Red State,” but he next hits the big screen in the thriller “Haywire.” The actor continues to work steadily and he’s due to break out, so we’ll see if “The English Teacher” is the role that gets him onto more Hollywood radars.
