The fallout from “Justice League” is now hitting executive levels, and while some die-hard fans are clinging to the hope that a better cut of the movie exists somewhere, that isn’t likely. Despite calls for Warner Bros. and DC to rehire Zack Snyder and have him return to finish his movie, that’s probably not going to happen. The VFX on Snyder’s scenes that didn’t make the movie were never completed, and it’s unlikely they will be. However, a longer version of the movie might be coming, though it’s not quite what that petition was asking for.
According to Mario F. Robles, who writes for IGN and The Splash Report, Warner Bros. is considering a home video release boxset packaging together “Man Of Steel,” “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” and “Justice League.” The twist, however, is that “Justice League” would feature an extended cut of the theatrical version of the movie.
For the home release of #JusticeLeague, WB is mulling over packaging it as a #Superman Trilogy, alongside MOS and BvS. And here's the kicker:
It would include an Extended Cut of JL.
BUT!
It'd be an extended version of the theatrical cut. Not Snyder's cut.

A boxset advertised as a Superman trilogy? Well, WB hasn’t really understood their DC Films entries thus far, so why not? Calling “Justice League” a Superman movie is certainly a stretch. But Lord knows, with the film underwhelming at the box office, they need to pad that bottom line any way they can. One does wonder what extra footage is out there from Whedon’s reshoots, and remember, the studio wasn’t above requesting that the director change his reshot material.
Will a longer cut “save” the movie as fanboys believe the extended version of ‘Batman v Superman’ did? Or will it be more aggressively middling material? We’ll find out soon enough. [ComicBookMovie]
