One of the most anticipated superhero events of the year is “Justice League” and a big new trailer is here to get fans excited.
Fresh off the critical and box office success of “Wonder Woman,” DC Films is pushing “Justice League” as the cornerstone of an interconnected franchise featuring Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, and Superman and looks to be continuing the serious tone imparted by “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” and “Wonder Woman”. How that plays out with Ben Affleck likely leaving the series after this film remains to be seen. Here’s the official synopsis reads:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
While “Justice League” has already seen some drama with both the replacement of ‘Batman v Superman’ composer Junkie XL with Danny Elfman and Joss Whedon overseeing reshoots, the film is shaping up to be one of the more anticipated films for the latter half of 2017. If DC can replicate the success of “Wonder Woman.” the franchise will be in good shape setting up next year’s “Aquaman.”
The film stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and Ezra Miller as The Flash. The film also sees Henry Cavill return from his death in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” to play Superman. “Justice League” opens on November 17th.
