“Tropic Thunder” and “Iron Man 2” scribe Justin Theroux has returned to his acting roots and will play the main antagonist in David Gordon Green’s medieval-stoner-comedy “Your Highness.”
Theroux joins the likes of James Franco, Danny McBride, Natalie Portman and Zooey Deschanel and will play Leezar, an evil wizard with a bejeweled magical staff who kicks-off the story by kidnapping the princess played by Deschanel.
The film follows the story of an arrogant lazy prince (McBride) who, along with his brother (Franco), must complete a quest to save the kingdom and his brother’s fiancée (Deschanel). Portman will play a warrior princess that the lazy prince falls in love with.
“Your Highness” was penned by McBride and writing partner Ben Best (“The Foot Fist Way”) and is currently shooting in Ireland for an October 10th, 2010 release – that’s 10/10/10 for the forgetful stoners out there. Green has has outdone himself and amassed quite the stellar cast especially considering just how silly the screenplay appears to be. Must be a testament to actors wanting to work with him, though Franco, McBride and Deschanel have obviously all appeared in his films before. [THR]
