Though he’s still finding financing for his Rick Ross biopic (of the drug dealer and not the bawse we know and love), Nick Cassavetes is loading up his Cameron Diaz-starring romantic comedy “The Other Woman.” Two actors have come on board, one’s a famous model and the other’s somebody you might know.
Deadline is reporting that Sports Illustrated cover girl Kate Upton is joining the cast that not only includes Diaz but also Leslie Mann and “Game Of Thrones” actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. This would mark Upton’s third big-screen appearance following “Tower Heist” and last year’s ill-conceived “The Three Stooges” update. Third time’s the charm? It’ll likely be her most substantial part to date at any rate.
Joining her is one of the Navy SEALS seen in “Zero Dark Thirty,” Taylor Kinney. We know what you’re thinking: which SEAL was he? Though he wasn’t the one who shot OBL, he still had some bearing on the raid as the one who had to comfort the distraught children at the compound while the rest of the SEALs carried out their mission.
The film, written by 2007 Black List honoree Melissa Stack, follows Diaz as a woman who finds out that she is “the other woman” in an extramarital affair, and teams up with her lover’s wife to seek revenge. Upton will play a third woman who is also surprised to learn she’s being cheated on by the same sleazy dude and joins the ladies in their quest. There’s no word on when shooting will begin but since the film is being produced for Fox, we’re guessing that it’ll roll before the Ross biopic.
