Katee Sackhoff Says Bo-Katan "Is So Important" To 'The Mandalorian' Season 2 & Where It's Going

Last Friday, during the third episode of “The Mandalorian” Season 2, the first major character (of several) that originally appeared in the ‘Clone Wars’ and ‘Rebels’ animated series, Bo-Katan, made her live-action debut, played by Katee Sackhoff, who voiced the character during the aforementioned earlier appearances. Not much is known about the extent of Bo-Katan’s involvement in the rest of the ‘Mandalorian’ episodes, but Sackhoff hints that the character is a major part of what’s to come.

Speaking to ET, Sackhoff went into detail about her love of “Star Wars,” her excitement about bringing Bo-Katan to life, and what might (or might not) lie ahead for the character and her involvement in the rest of “Mandalorian” Season 2. Needless to say, there’s a lot of teasing and very little concrete information.

That said, when asked about the character’s place in the “Star Wars” lore, Sackhoff does expand on how important Bo-Katan is to the series moving forward.

“She’s been such a pivotal character in this world and she’s so important to this story in ‘The Mandalorian’ and where it’s going,” said Sackhoff.

As mentioned, Bo-Katan isn’t the only animated character that is expected to show up in the rest of “The Mandalorian” Season 2. Perhaps the biggest guest star that fans are expecting is Ahsoka Tano (reportedly portrayed by Rosario Dawson). And though Bo-Katan does mention her by name, Sackhoff seems to allude to the fact that she doesn’t meet Ahsoka Tano in the series and she can’t even confirm that Dawson plays the character.

“I’ve never met Rosario [Dawson], so I don’t know anything about [her role],” said the actress. “I love the character from ‘Clone Wars’ and ‘Rebels,’ so I’d love to see [Ahsoka].”

Obviously, we can’t take any interviews with “Star Wars” actors as gospel. They’ve been known to intentionally mislead or misdirect to preserve surprises. So, even if Dawson and Sackhoff do act opposite each other in the show, it’s likely the actress wouldn’t spill the beans right now. We’ll just have to wait and see.
