Deadline reports that Keanu Reeves will lead the Harald Zwart ("The Karate Kid") directed movie about an aging, hotshot NASCAR driver who looks to put his crumbling personal and professional life back on track by getting a young Chinese woman as his co-driver, as gears up for take place in a rally race across China. See what I mean?
At any rate, it’s Keanu driving around in a car, hopefully with some decent one liners. And while you might wonder why Hollywood is bothering with a race movie when fare like "Rush" and "Need For Speed" more or less flopped, the latter picture actually earned $66 million of its $159 million foreign box office receipts in China (which has also prompted Chinese produced sequel). So this one has every chance of coming in first place.
