Earlier, we shared the news that Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige, broke from his typical secretive demeanor to reveal that Charlie Cox would eventually join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, reprising his Matt Murdock/Daredevil role from the Marvel Television production, “Daredevil.” But don’t go expecting Feige to turn a new leaf and start confirming all the rumors floating around regarding the Netflix/Marvel characters. He’s still Kevin Feige, after all.

In a new interview with ScreenRant, Kevin Feige was asked about the possibility of seeing the cadre of Netflix/Marvel heroes making their MCU debuts in the future. For those unaware, even though the various Netflix/Marvel series, such as “Daredevil,” “Luke Cage,” “Jessica Jones,” and “The Punisher,” were said to take place in the MCU, they were produced by Marvel Television, not Marvel Studios. So, previously, Kevin Feige has made it abundantly clear that they aren’t part of the official MCU canon.
That said, Feige recently did confirm Charlie Cox would return as Daredevil in the MCU and over in “Hawkeye,” there are serious hints at another Netflix/Marvel character being reintroduced, also (keep an eye on next week’s episode). So, what about folks such as Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones)? Well, Feige is keeping mum but does seem to hint that maybe, just maybe we’ll see more Netflix/Marvel heroes getting MCU debuts soon.
“I always say that whenever a character comes back into the Marvel sandbox, it becomes another tool in the storytelling ability of the MCU,” teased Feige. “As I said before, the good news is, all will be revealed when people actually finally watch.”
Again, Feige is basically sticking to his “wait until you watch” mantra, which absolves him from having to confirm or discuss rumors that run rampant online. However, with Cox being confirmed and a debut rumored to be in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” we could be seeing some of these people show up sooner than later. But perhaps not all of them, as not all are fan-favorites or serve an immediate purpose in the MCU. (*cough*Finn Jones*cough*)
If you’re one of those people who keep fighting for your Netflix/Marvel characters, don’t be surprised if more and more start showing up eventually. But also, don’t be upset if they’re not the exact same character you know and love, as Feige would likely want to do soft reboots to reintroduce them in the MCU.
